Birdsnest Home
Birdsnest Home is placed in the ancient south Indian city Madurai. The home is almost hundred years old and was established by an American missionary. The home today cares for about 50 girls in the age 4-25 years old. The home is run by Birdsnest Foundation with financially support from Bharat Aid and the individual sponsors.We have with the help of Sida built a vocational school for tailoring and typewriting. We have also made a small flat where the girls can practice how to manage a house hold such as cooking, cleaning, washing and family economy. This will bring good knowledge that they need before getting married. The main goal is to give the girls a decent education so that they one day can stand on their own feet.
