Paul’s Boys Home
Paul’s Boy’s Home is located 8 km outside the ancient south Indian city Madurai in Tamil Nadu India. The Home was established in 1998 by the couple Thangapushpam. The home is registered as a charitable society by the government. Mrs. Esther is a teacher and her husband Retnaraj is a businessman. For more then 10 years the couple were house parent’s for YMCA Boys Home, Madurai and they were both very appreciated by the boys and adults. When the YMCA Boys Home was closed as an orphanage they decided to start their own home where also some of the YMCA boys were admitted. At present there are 14 boys at the home and thanks to Mrs. Esther’s good teaching capacity she is a good help with the boys studies. From May 2000 Mr. Retnaraj also is needed at home because 6 new small and needy boys were admitted to the home. In the beginning they are renting a house with a small garden but since 2006 they have their own house. There is also a small garden where they can grow vegetables and flowers.
